1. A physiological sensor comprising:

  • a plurality of light emitting sources arranged as first elements of a plurality of elements in an electrical grid, the electrical grid comprising a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns;

    a detector responsive to light emitted by at least one of the plurality of light emitting sources after the light is attenuated by tissue of a patient, wherein the detector is configured to generate a signal indicative of a physiological parameter of the patient; and

    at least one information element arranged as a second element of the plurality of elements in the electrical grid, wherein, in response to being activated, the at least one information element provides an output indicative of information about the physiological sensor,wherein addressing one of the plurality of rows and one of the plurality of columns activates one of the plurality of elements in the electrical grid.
