1. An apparatus comprising:
- a cycle efficiency management circuit including;
a parameter circuit structured to receive a plurality of inputs including at least one of route parameter data, vehicle parameter data, or vehicle operating condition data, and a dynamic torque management circuit structured to;
determine one or more segments of a route,associate the plurality of inputs with one or more segments of the route, determine a power output limit for a current segment of the route based on a scalar quantity derived from two or more forward segments in the route, andgenerate an engine torque output limit based on the power output limit; and
an engine control circuit structured to receive the engine torque output limit and to limit an engine torque output for the current segment of the route,wherein the scalar quantity is a function of an average and a standard deviation of determined power output limits.
