1. A ported tubular configured for installation in a casing string comprising a plurality of casing joints having a nominal inside diameter for a wellbore to provide selective access to the adjacent formation, the ported tubular comprising:
- a tubular housing comprising one or more lateral fluid flow ports within a section of the tubular housing having a first length and a larger inside diameter than the nominal inside diameter of the casing joints, the tubular housing adapted for installation within a wellbore;
a port closure sleeve disposed against the tubular housing within the section having a larger inside diameter and slidable with respect to the tubular housing to open and close the ports, the port closure sleeve having a second length less than the first length thereby creating a radially enlarged annular space within the section having a larger inside diameter and adjacent an end of the port closure sleeve; and
a locating profile below and adjacent the port closure sleeve configured to engage a shifting tool within the tubular housing, the locating profile consisting essentially of the radially enlarged annular space,wherein the port closure sleeve consists essentially of a tubular having a first end surface, an opposing second end surface, and a cylindrical wall extending from the first end surface to the second end surface, the cylindrical wall having a single, invariant, inside diameter that is not less than the nominal inside diameter of the casing joints.

Abstract
A ported tubular is provided for use in casing a wellbore, to permit selective access to the adjacent formation during completion operations. A system and method for completing a wellbore using the ported tubular are also provided. Ports within the wellbore casing may be opened, isolated, or otherwise accessed to deliver treatment to the formation through the ports, using a tool assembly deployed on tubing or wireline.
