1. An information processing device, comprising:

  • memory configured to store instructions; and

    a central processing unit (CPU) configured to execute the instructions stored in the memory, wherein the CPU is further configured to;

    provide a plurality of objects arranged in a direction on a display screen,wherein each object of the plurality of objects comprises an object region and a detection region, andwherein the detection region detects one of contact or proximity of a pointing member;

    control such that a plurality of modes exist, with different states of overlap in the direction between a first object region of a first object of the plurality of objects and a first detection region of a second object of the plurality of objects,wherein the first object and the second object are a pair of adjacent objects of the plurality of objects;

    control a transition between two modes of the plurality of modes based on a width of each of the plurality of objects that falls below a threshold value; and

    change, based on the transition between the two modes of the plurality of modes, at least a part of the detection region of each of the plurality of objects such that the width of each of the plurality of objects at the detection region exceeds the threshold value.
