displaying the invitation by the second fluid delivery device and the third fluid delivery device that the master medical device generated for the second fluid delivery device and the third fluid delivery device to join and initiate formation of the group,wherein the identifier for the master device and an identifier for the second fluid delivery device and the third fluid delivery device is stored in a memory,receiving input over a network or the group interconnecting the second fluid delivery device and the third fluid delivery device, the input associating the third fluid delivery device to the second fluid delivery device, the third fluid delivery device located in a medical environment in which the second fluid delivery device is operated;
based on the input, recording an association between the third fluid delivery device and the second fluid delivery device, the association indicating assignment of both the second fluid delivery device and the third fluid delivery device for use by the patient;
based on the recorded association, initiating transmission of a message to the third fluid delivery device, the message including medical information indicating that the second fluid delivery device delivers a first fluid to the patient;
initiating display of the medical information as indicated by the message on a display screen of the third fluid delivery device, the third fluid delivery device operated by a caregiver of the patient, display of the medical information on the display screen of the third fluid delivery device indicating to the caregiver of the patient that the second fluid delivery device is used to deliver the first fluid to the patient; and
in response to receiving a fluid delivery selection by the caregiver operating the third fluid delivery device, controlling delivery of a second fluid to the patient from the third fluid delivery device.

Abstract
Via communications with an association management resource, an operator of a respective fluid delivery system can associate a medical device (fluid pump) with a particular entity such as a patient, location, one or more other medical devices, the caregiver, etc. Thereafter, the operator of the fluid delivery system is able to better manage use of the fluid delivery system based on relevant medical information, which is accessible as a result of creating the association. For example, the association management resource gathers and stores information associated with the entity prior to the operator providing the input associating the fluid delivery system with the entity. After the operator of the fluid delivery system creates the association, the medical information associated with the entity is immediately available to the fluid delivery system and/or corresponding operator of the fluid delivery system.
