Abstract

Methods, apparatuses, and systems for wireless communications are described. A base station may send a message with configuration parameters to a wireless device, and the configuration parameters may be for at least two different types of carriers used for communications.

Claims

1. A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to;

receive at least one message comprising;

configuration parameters for each carrier of a plurality of carriers, the plurality of carriers comprising;

at least one carrier of a first carrier type; and

at least one carrier of a second carrier type, different from the first carrier type, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises at least one downlink subframe without a reference signal; and

information indicating whether each carrier of the plurality of carriers is of the first carrier type or the second carrier type; and

transmit channel state information of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type via an uplink carrier of the at least one carrier of the first carrier type.

2. The wireless device of claim 1, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a second downlink subframe in which a control channel is configured to start at a symbol after a first symbol in the second downlink subframe.

3. The wireless device of claim 2, wherein the first symbol in the second downlink subframe is transmitted at a power level lower than one or more other symbols in the second downlink subframe.

4. The wireless device of claim 1, wherein the at least one carrier of the first carrier type comprises:

a plurality of subframes; and

a downlink reference signal in every subframe of the plurality of subframes.

5. The wireless device of claim 1, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises synchronization signals located at a subframe location that is different from a subframe location of synchronization signals in the at least one carrier of the first carrier type.

6. The wireless device of claim 1, wherein the at least one message further comprises:

information indicating a location of primary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type; and

information indicating a location of secondary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type.

31. The wireless device of claim 1, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a reference signal based on data being sent in one or more downlink subframes.

7. A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, at least one message comprising;

configuration parameters for each carrier of a plurality of carriers, the plurality of carriers comprising;

at least one carrier of a first carrier type; and

at least one carrier of a second carrier type, different from the first carrier type, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises at least one downlink subframe without a reference signal; and

information indicating whether each carrier of the plurality of carriers is of the first carrier type or the second carrier type; and

transmitting channel state information of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type via an uplink carrier of the at least one carrier of the first carrier type.

8. The method claim 7, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a second downlink subframe in which a control channel is configured to start at a symbol after a first symbol in the second downlink subframe.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the first symbol in the second downlink subframe is transmitted at a power level lower than one or more other symbols in the second downlink subframe.

10. The method of claim 7, wherein the at least one carrier of the first carrier type comprises:

a plurality of subframes; and

a downlink reference signal in every subframe of the plurality of subframes.

11. The method of claim 7, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises synchronization signals located at a subframe location that is different from a subframe location of synchronization signals in the at least one carrier of the first carrier type.

12. The method of claim 7, wherein the at least one message further comprises:

information indicating a location of primary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type; and

information indicating a location of secondary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type.

32. The method of claim 7, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a reference signal based on data being sent in one or more downlink subframes.

13. A base station comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to;

transmit at least one message comprising;

configuration parameters for each carrier of a plurality of carriers, the plurality of carriers comprising;

at least one carrier of a first carrier type; and

at least one carrier of a second carrier type, different from the first carrier type, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises at least one downlink subframe without a reference signal; and

information indicating whether each carrier of the plurality of carriers is of the first carrier type or the second carrier type; and

receive channel state information of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type via an uplink carrier of the at least one carrier of the first carrier type.

14. The base station of claim 13, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a second downlink subframe in which a control channel is configured to start at a symbol after a first symbol in the second downlink subframe.

15. The base station of claim 14, wherein the first symbol in the second downlink subframe is transmitted at a power level lower than one or more other symbols in the second downlink subframe.

16. The base station of claim 13, wherein the at least one carrier of the first carrier type comprises:

a plurality of subframes; and

a downlink reference signal in every subframe of the plurality of subframes.

17. The base station of claim 13, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises synchronization signals located at a subframe location that is different from a subframe location of synchronization signals in the at least one carrier of the first carrier type.

18. The base station of claim 13, wherein the at least one message further comprises:

information indicating a location of primary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type; and

information indicating a location of secondary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type.

33. The base station of claim 13, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a reference signal based on data being sent in one or more downlink subframes.

19. A method comprising:

transmitting, by a base station, at least one message comprising;

configuration parameters for each carrier of a plurality of carriers, the plurality of carriers comprising;

at least one carrier of a first carrier type; and

at least one carrier of a second carrier type, different from the first carrier type, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises at least one downlink sub-frame without a reference signal; and

information indicating whether each carrier of the plurality of carriers is of the first carrier type or the second carrier type; and

receiving channel state information of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type via an uplink carrier of the at least one carrier of the first carrier type.

20. The method claim 19, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a second downlink subframe in which a control channel is configured to start at a symbol after a first symbol in the second downlink subframe.

21. The method of claim 20, wherein the first symbol in the second downlink subframe is transmitted at a power level lower than one or more other symbols in the second downlink subframe.

22. The method of claim 19, wherein the at least one carrier of the first carrier type comprises:

a plurality of subframes; and

a downlink reference signal in every subframe of the plurality of subframes.

23. The method of claim 19, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises synchronization signals located at a subframe location that is different from a subframe location of synchronization signals in the at least one carrier of the first carrier type.

24. The method of claim 19, wherein the at least one message further comprises:

information indicating a location of primary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type; and

information indicating a location of secondary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type.

34. The method of claim 19, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a reference signal based on data being sent in one or more downlink subframes.

25. A system comprising:

a base station comprising;

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors of the base station, cause the base station to;

transmit at least one message comprising;

configuration parameters for each carrier of a plurality of carriers, the plurality of carriers comprising;

at least one carrier of a first carrier type; and

at least one carrier of a second carrier type, different from the first carrier type, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises at least one downlink sub-frame without a reference signal; and

information indicating whether each carrier of the plurality of carriers is of the first carrier type or the second carrier type; and

receive channel state information of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type via an uplink carrier of the at least one carrier of the first carrier type; and

a wireless device comprising;

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors of the wireless device, cause the wireless device to;

receive the at least one message from the base station; and

transmit the channel state information to the base station.

26. The system claim 25, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a second downlink subframe in which a control channel is configured to start at a symbol after a first symbol in the second downlink subframe.

27. The system of claim 26, wherein the first symbol in the second downlink subframe is transmitted at a power level lower than one or more other symbols in the second downlink subframe.

28. The system of claim 25, wherein the at least one carrier of the first carrier type comprises:

a plurality of subframes; and

a downlink reference signal in every subframe of the plurality of subframes.

29. The system of claim 25, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises synchronization signals located at a subframe location that is different from a subframe location of synchronization signals in the at least one carrier of the first carrier type.

30. The system of claim 25, wherein the at least one message further comprises:

information indicating a location of primary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type; and

information indicating a location of secondary synchronization signals in one or more subframes of the at least one carrier of the second carrier type.

35. The system of claim 25, wherein the at least one carrier of the second carrier type comprises a reference signal based on data being sent in one or more downlink subframes.
