1. A programmable light timer adapted to apply power to a device, the programmable light timer comprising:
- a first user selectable button of a user interface, wherein the first user selectable button comprises a first dedicated button that establishes an on time and an off time of a first timing pattern in response to a selection of the first user selectable button, and wherein the first timing pattern comprises a first pre-stored timing pattern having a first on time and a first off time that are pre-stored for the first user selectable button and that is implemented in response to a selection of the first user selectable button; and
a second user selectable button of the user interface, wherein the second user selectable button comprises a second dedicated button that establishes an on time and an off time of a second timing pattern, that is different than the first timing pattern, in response to a selection of the second user selectable button, and wherein the second timing pattern comprises a second pre-stored timing pattern having a second on time and a second off time that are pre-stored for the second user selectable button and that is implemented in response to a selection of the second user selectable button.
