1. A lancing device, comprising:

  • a curved outwardly facing edge;

    a lancet positioned adjacent to the outwardly facing edge, wherein the lancet is configured to change from a pre-operational shape to an operational shape, and wherein the lancet is comprised of a resilient material such that the lancet is bent when in the pre-operational shape and straight when in the operational shape;

    a cleaning swab positioned adjacent to the outwardly facing edge at a radial distance away from the lancet; and

    a lancet housing located adjacent to the outwardly facing edge of the lancing device, wherein the lancet and the cleaning swab are disposed within the lancet housing, wherein the lancet housing comprises a removable seal that holds the lancet in the pre-operational shape, covers the cleaning swab, and maintains sterility of the lancet, and wherein the removable seal is secured to the outwardly facing edge of the lancet housing by a heat seal connection or an adhesive.
