1. An apparatus, comprising:

  • a tab having an edge; and

    a plurality of surgical dissection tip substrates, each of the plurality of surgical dissection tip substrates including;

    a tip having a proximal end, a distal end, and opposing first and second planar surfaces having a same width across the proximal end and a same length between the proximal end and the distal end, the length of the first and second planar surfaces being greater than a thickness of the dissection tip substrate;

    two substantially parallel planar extension strips having respective first ends directly connected to the edge of the tab, and respective second ends, opposite to the first ends, connected to the proximal end of the tip, the first ends of the planar extension strips being spaced apart from one another and the second ends of the planar extension strips being spaced apart from one another, wherein the tip and the planar extension strips are on a same plane, and the two planar extension strips have respective lengths between the first ends and the second ends of the planar extension strips that is greater than the length of the first and second planar surfaces of the tip, each of the two planar extension strips being directly connected to both the first and the second planar surfaces of the tip; and

    a ferromagnetic layer coating at least a portion of each of the first and second planar surfaces of the tip.
