Single particulate metering system with variable rate controls
First Claim
1. A particulate metering system, comprising:
- an air flow origin;
a particulate accelerator, the particulate accelerator having;
a. a front and back wall;
b. an air inlet, wherein the front wall terminates at the air inlet and the air inlet terminates at the front wall;
c. an air-particulate interface;
d. a mixing area;
e. an air-particulate outlet;
a particulate source in communication with the particulate accelerator;
an operated conveyance in operable communication with the particulate source and the air-particulate interface of the particulate accelerator, the operated conveyance having a shaft carrying flighting, wherein rotation of the shaft urges particulate from the particulate source in the same direction;
a confluence of the air flow and the particulate within the mixing area of the particulate accelerator; and
a discharge associated with the air-particulate outlet of the particulate accelerator.

Abstract
A particulate metering system includes an air flow origin and a plurality of particulate accelerators. A single particulate source is in communication with the particulate accelerators. Each of a plurality of operated conveyances can be in operable communication with the single particulate source and one of the particulate accelerators. The system includes a confluence of the air flow and the particulate within the mixing area of each of the particulate accelerators. Each of a plurality of discharges can be associated with the particulate accelerators. The operated conveyances can operate at different rates. The system can include one or more gearboxes adapted to be inverted and controlled by a second drive system. The system and controls provide variable application rates of particulate across rows in a field.

8. A particulate metering system, comprising:
-
a particulate flow path comprising; a. a particulate storage area; b. a particulate accelerator having an air inlet, an air-particulate interface, an air-particulate output and a mixing area; c. a first operated conveyance in operable communication with the particulate storage area, wherein the first operated conveyance is enclosed by a housing having a housing wall with a circumference approximating the first operated conveyance; d. a second operated conveyance in operable communication with the particulate storage area, wherein the second operated conveyance is enclosed by a housing having a housing wall with a circumference approximating the second operated conveyance and wherein the first operated conveyance is driven independent of the second operated conveyance; and e. a discharge line connected to the air-particulate output of the particulate accelerator; wherein the operated conveyance conveys particulate from the particulate storage area to the particulate accelerator, wherein the particulate descends vertically within the particulate accelerator into the mixing area, wherein the particulate mixes with and is suspended by air in the mixing area, wherein an air-particulate mixture moves through the air-particulate output into the discharge line. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12)
