1. A method of distributing a playlist to one or more pay-for-play digital jukeboxes connected to an audiovisual distribution network, the method comprising:
- connecting a portable music player having a peripheral playlist stored in a computer-readable storage medium thereon to a pay-for-play digital jukebox, the peripheral playlist being in a first format interpretable by the portable music player;
logging in a first user to the digital jukebox or to the audiovisual distribution network;
enabling the first user, after the logging in, to build a playlist on the digital jukebox and to retrieve the peripheral playlist from the connected portable music player;
responsive to a command from the first user, retrieving the peripheral playlist for the digital jukebox if the first user is logged in and preventing said retrieving if the first user is not logged in;
converting the peripheral playlist to a jukebox playlist, the jukebox playlist being in a second format, different from the first format, that is interpretable by digital jukeboxes;
determining whether the jukebox playlist is designated as public or private;
based on whether the jukebox playlist is designated as public or private, configuring the jukebox playlist as public and accessible to all users or as private and accessible only to the first user; and
publishing the jukebox playlist at least to the digital jukebox so that the jukebox playlist is available for playback on and via the digital jukebox, the retrieving, the converting, the determining, and the configuring reducing an amount of reentering, reselecting and/or regrouping of information associated with the publishing of the jukebox playlist on the one or more pay-for-play digital jukeboxes,wherein the jukebox playlist is different in scope than, and does not supplant, a master catalog of media available for playback via the digital jukebox.

Abstract
Systems and/or methods for use in connection with digital downloading jukeboxes are provided. Such systems and/or methods may be used to provide enhanced communications capabilities, e.g., to registered users of jukeboxes. In certain exemplary embodiments, users may become registered users directly at a jukebox. Registered users also may, in certain exemplary embodiments, receive coupons for free plays, import playlists from hardware devices and/or software applications, receive special pricing when playing certain instances of media, play playlists in whole or in part, create and/or manage playlists directly at a jukebox, establish and manage connections with other registered users, etc. Still further, in certain exemplary embodiments, one or more channels may be predefined and/or set up for a jukebox.
