Abstract

Configurations are disclosed for a health system to be used in various healthcare applications, e.g., for patient diagnostics, monitoring, and/or therapy. The health system may comprise a light generation module to transmit light or an image to a user, one or more sensors to detect a physiological parameter of the user'"'"'s body, including their eyes, and processing circuitry to analyze an input received in response to the presented images to determine one or more health conditions or defects.

Claims

1. A wearable augmented reality device comprising:

an augmented reality head-mounted ophthalmic system comprising;

a frame configured to be worn on the head of a wearer wearing the head-mounted ophthalmic system;

one or more light sensors attached to the frame;

an augmented reality display attached to the frame and comprising a light source, the display configured to;

pass light from the world into an eye of the wearer; and

output light from the light source into the eye of the wearer to form an image in the eye,

wherein the wearable augmented reality device is configured to;

detect an exposure amount of one or more wavelengths of light propagating towards the eye; and

modify the exposure amount of the one or wavelengths of light reaching the eye based on the detected exposure amount.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the head-mounted ophthalmic system is configured to modify the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths of light based on one or more of a time of day, a date, a time of year, or a season.

3. The device of claim 2, wherein the head-mounted ophthalmic system is configured to modify an exposure amount of blue light reaching the eye depending on temporal proximity to a sleep time of the wearer.

4. The device of claim 2, wherein the one or more wavelengths of light comprise wavelengths of light corresponding to the color blue.

5. The device of claim 1, wherein the head-mounted ophthalmic system is configured to:

block at least a portion of the wearer'"'"'s view of the world, thereby reducing the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths of light reaching the eye from the world,

wherein a size and location of the portion of the wearer'"'"'s view of the world that is blocked is determined based on the detected exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths of the light.

6. The device of claim 1, wherein the head-mounted ophthalmic system is configured to actively reduce the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths by reducing the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths emitted by the light source.

7. The device of claim 6, wherein the head-mounted ophthalmic system is configured to:

provide instructions for the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths to be outputted by the light source; and

subsequently modify the instructions to reduce an output of the light of the one or more wavelengths by the light source.

8. The device of claim 1, wherein the one or more sensors is a camera.

9. The device of claim 1, wherein the head-mounted system is configured to:

determine whether the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths of light is overexposed; and

after determining that the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths of light is overexposed, modify the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths of light by decreasing the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths that reaches the eye of the wearer.

10. The device of claim 1, wherein the display comprises a waveguide stack comprising a plurality of waveguides, wherein different waveguides of the waveguide stack are configured to output light with different wavefront divergence corresponding to different focal planes.

11. The device of claim 1, wherein the head-mounted system is configured to:

determining that the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths of light is underexposed modify; and

after determining that the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths of light is underexposed, modify the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths of light by increasing the exposure amount of the one or more wavelengths that reaches the eye of the wearer.

12. A wearable augmented reality device comprising:

an augmented reality head-mounted ophthalmic system comprising;

a frame configured to be worn on the head of a wearer wearing the head-mounted ophthalmic system;

one or more sensors attached to the frame, wherein the sensors are configured to determine an exposure of one or more spectral components of a light spectrum;

an augmented reality display attached to the frame and comprising a light source, the display configured to;

pass light from the world into an eye of the wearer; and

output light from the light source into the eye of the wearer to form an image in the eye,

wherein the wearable augmented reality device is configured to selectively administer light of the one or more spectral components of the light spectrum into the wearer'"'"'s eyes at least partially based on the exposure of the one or more spectral components of light.

13. The device of claim 12, wherein the wearable augmented reality device is configured to selectively administer light based on one or more of a time of day, a date, a time of year, or a season.

The device of claim 12, wherein the wearable augmented reality device is configured to determine whether the exposure of one of the one or more spectral components of the light spectrum is underexposed relative to a threshold for the one of the one or more spectral components, wherein the wearable augmented reality device is configured to selectively augment the output light from the light source based on the detected under exposure.

15. The device of claim 14, further configured to detect an underexposure of blue light, wherein the wearable augmented reality device is configured to selectively administer blue light.

16. The device of claim 12, wherein the light spectrum comprises a range of wavelengths corresponding to daylight.

17. The device of claim 12, wherein the light spectrum comprises a range of wavelengths corresponding to full spectrum light.

18. The device of claim 12, further comprising a second light source configured to provide the light to be selectively administered to the wearer'"'"'s eyes.

19. The device of claim 12, wherein the wearable augmented reality device is configured to:

determine whether the exposure of the one or more spectral components of the light spectrum is overexposed relative to a threshold for the spectral component of the light spectrum; and

after determining that the exposure of the one or more spectral components of the light spectrum is overexposed relative to the threshold, selectively reduce the output light from the light source based on the detected over exposure.
