1. A computer-implemented method for the evaluation of a plurality of subject applications for migration to the cloud, the method comprising the steps of:

  • executing, on at least one or more computers being used by the subject applications, a cloud migration application discovery tool, wherein the cloud migration application discovery tool is configured by way of a first program to capture application inventory data associated with said plurality of subject applications and to store the captured application inventory data in an assessment database;

    analyzing, on a separate computer not used by the subject applications, a plurality of user-defined objectives for application cloud migration obtained via a user interface and filtering a set of predetermined cloud risk probability (CRISP) categories based on the user-defined objectives;

    determining, via a scoring engine, on the separate computer, a respective weightage to associate with each category of the set of filtered predetermined CRISP categories for each subject application to be assessed for migration to the cloud;

    generating a CRISP score for a respective cloud topology by applying the respective weightage associated with each of the set of filtered predetermined CRISP categories to the application inventory data stored in the assessment database; and

    determining respective application fitment scores for each subject application associated with the application inventory data based on the generated CRISP score and historical application cloud migration data.
