1. An apparatus, comprising:
- a communication interface to communicate with a plurality of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices via one or more wireless access points, wherein the plurality of IoT devices are deployed in an environment, and wherein the plurality of IoT devices each comprise one or more sensors to capture data associated with the environment;
a database to store a plurality of records associated with the plurality of IoT devices; and
a processor to;
identify one or more current wireless signals received from a first IoT device of the plurality of IoT devices via the one or more wireless access points, wherein the one or more current wireless signals comprise status information for the first IoT device, wherein the status information comprises a device identifier, a timestamp, and sensor data generated by the one or more sensors of the first IoT device;
identify one or more current wireless signal characteristics of the one or more current wireless signals;
identify one or more reference locations of the one or more wireless access points, wherein the one or more reference locations are determined based on a global positioning system;
determine a current location of the first IoT device, wherein the current location is determined based on the one or more current wireless signal characteristics and the one or more reference locations of the one or more wireless access points;
store the status information and the current location in a record in the database, wherein the record is associated with the first IoT device; and
send the current location of the first IoT device to a cloud localization service.

Abstract
A wireless access device is provided that includes at least one processor, an antennae, and a localization engine. The localization engine is executable by the at least one processor to determine a location of the access device, receive a wireless signal from a particular device that includes presence information corresponding to the particular device that lacks self-localization functionality, and determine a location of the particular device based on the location of the access device and the presence information.
