1. An aircraft navigation system comprising:

  • a navigation-map data source, navigation-map data provided by the navigation-map data source including information about a multitude of objects O on earth surface which are of high potential visibility and high potential identifiability from positions elevated relative to the earth surface, each information for an object Oϵ

    O including a position and a type of the respective object O;

    a first system for measuring an actual aircraft position P(t) at time t;

    a waypoint data source providing a plurality of waypoints WPi defining an aircraft intended flight track, wherein i is an integer and WPi represents one of the plurality of waypoints;

    a second system for selecting per waypoint WPi one object Oi(WPi) with Oi(WPi

    O depending on given selection criteria, wherein Oi(WPi) represents an object Oi selected for the waypoint WPi and is one of the multitude of objects O; and

    a display for displaying an information I(Oi(WPi) referring the selected object Oi(WPi), wherein I(Oi(WPi) represents information I referring to the object Oi selected for the waypoint WPi,wherein a ranking index of each object Oϵ

    O concerning its potential visibility and potential identifiability is based on at least one of the following;

    a relative size of the object O compared to an environment E(O) of the object O;

    a visible brightness contrast;

    a visible colour contrast between the object O and the environment E(O) of the object O;

    ora geometric shape of the object O, andwherein the selection criteria considera distance di,n between a waypoint WPi and positions of neighbouring objects On(WPi) being positioned within a given maximum distance from the respective waypoint WPi, with Onϵ

    O, wherein n is an integer, On(WPi) is one of objects from the plurality of object O within the given maximum distance from the waypoint WPi, di,n is a distance a given object On and the waypoint WPi, and wherein On is a sub-set of the set O, and/orthe ranking index of the neighbouring objects On(WPi) concerning their potential visibility and potential identifiability.
