Abstract

A processing device and method are disclosed to manage content of a content feed is disclosed. The method can include receiving, from a client device, an overlay request for an overlay content. The method can also include select a first overlay content from a plurality of overlay contents. The method can further include determining when an amount remaining in a monetary budget, associated with the overlay request, exceeds a threshold monetary budget. The method can further include determining when a number of times the overlay content has been displayed does not exceed a threshold number of times. The method can further include retrieving, from an overlay database, the first overlay content. The method can further include delivering, to the client device, the first overlay content.

Claims

1. A server device comprising:

a memory device to store instructions for a content manager; and

a processing device operatively coupled to the memory device, the processing device to execute the content manager, the content manager comprising;

an overlay decision engine configured to;

receive a request for overlay content from a client device, the request for overlay content comprising a targeting parameter; and

in response to receiving the request from the client device;

identify, in view of the targeting parameter, the overlay content in the memory device storing a plurality of overlay contents; and

determine an overlay configuration of the overlay content, the overlay configuration comprising a sequenced overlay format configured to instruct the client device to display a first set of media frames and a second set of media frames of the overlay content in a determined sequence; and

an overlay server configured to deliver, to the client device, the overlay content according to the overlay configuration for display on the client device, wherein the overlay decision engine is further configured to, in response to the client device displaying the overlay content;

receive user feedback information from the client device, the user feedback information indicating a user reaction to the overlay content; and

identify a third set of media frames, in view of the user feedback information, for the overlay server to deliver to the client device, wherein the third set of media frames is different than the first set of media frames and the second set of media frames.

2. The server device of claim 1, wherein the targeting parameter comprises at least one of:

a language information;

a weather information;

a time of day information;

a viewing history information;

a demographic information;

a geographic information;

or a pollen level information.

3. The server device of claim 1, wherein the overlay server is further configured to:

retrieve the overlay content from an overlay database; and

deliver the overlay content in the overlay configuration to the client device.

4. The server device of claim 1, wherein the overlay content is an advertisement and the overlay configuration is as an overlay advertisement configuration.

5. The server device of claim 4, wherein the overlay content is streaming video.

6. The server device of claim 1, wherein the overlay content comprises at least one of textual content, graphical content, or video content.

7. The server device of claim 1, wherein the content manager further comprises a management engine configured to:

associate the overlay content and the overlay format with a source location of the overlay content and the format of the overlay; and

communicate, to the client device, the source location to retrieve the overlay content and the overlay format.
