Configuration of interfaces for a location detection system and application
First Claim
1. A method comprising:
- receiving a type of profile associated with a first profile;
determining that the type of profile associated with the first profile is usable by a first electronic device based on one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device;
receiving the first profile associated with a personal digital key (PDK) and a PDK identifier associated with the PDK, wherein the first profile is received based on the one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device, and a second profile associated with the PDK is received by a second electronic device having one or more available functions that are executable by the second electronic device that differ from the one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device, the first profile, the second profile and the PDK identifier stored in the PDK;
sending the first profile to the first electronic device based on the one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device; and
configuring operation of the first electronic device based on the one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device and the received first profile.

Abstract
A system and method provides efficient and highly reliable customer and asset tracking. A Personal Digital Key (PDK) is associated with and carried by a user or fixed to an asset. The PDK wirelessly communicates with a receiver/decoder circuit (RDC) that can be coupled to a variety of electronic devices. The RDC authenticates the PDK based on received data and stores information to track customers and provide improved service. The RDC can be coupled to or integrated with a variety of electronic devices. The operation of the electronic device is determined based on an identification code of the detected PDK and an identification code of the RDC. The electronic device, the PDK or both can be configured with a personalized user interface and execute specific functions based on stored state information associated with the PDK and RDC identification codes.

12. A system comprising:
-
one or more processors; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to; receive a type of profile associated with a first profile; determine that the type of profile associated with the first profile is usable by a first electronic device based on one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device; receive the first profile associated with a personal digital key (PDK) and a PDK identifier associated with the PDK, wherein the first profile is received based on the one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device, and a second profile is received by a second electronic device having one or more available functions that are executable by the second electronic device that differ from the one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device, the first profile, the second profile, and the PDK identifier stored in the PDK; send the first profile to the first electronic device based on the one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device; and configure operation of the first electronic device based on the one or more available functions executable by the first electronic device and the received first profile. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)
