1. A method comprising:
- inserting a catheter into a heart, the catheter comprising three or more electrodes;
causing the catheter to move to each of multiple, different positions in the heart;
for each of the multiple, different positions, causing current flow between at least some of the three or more electrodes and measuring electrical signals, from the current flow, at each of one or more of the three or more electrodes;
determining anatomical information about the heart by detecting surface boundaries of the heart based at least in part on impedance information generated based on the measured electrical signals; and
determining at least one of;
one or more distances between different surface boundaries of the heart, and one or more distances between at least one of the three or more electrodes and at least one of the surface boundaries of the heart.

11. A method comprising:
-
inserting a catheter into a heart, the catheter comprising multiple, spatially distributed electrodes including multiple sets of electrodes, each set comprising at least two electrodes; for each of the multiple different sets of electrodes, causing current to flow between at least some of the electrodes and in response to current flow, measuring an electrical signal at each of one or more measuring electrodes; determining anatomical information about the heart by detecting surfaces of the heart based at least in part on complex impedance information generated based on the measured signals; and determining at least one of a distance between different surfaces of the heart, and a distance between one of the electrodes and one of the surfaces of the heart. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15)

16. A system comprising:
-
a catheter comprising three or more electrodes configured to inject a current and to measure electrical signals in response to the injected current; and a processing unit configured to determine anatomical information about the heart by detecting surfaces of the heart based at least in part on impedance information generated based on the measured signals, wherein the processing unit determines at least one of;
one or more distances between different surfaces of the heart, and one or more distances between at least one of the three or more electrodes and at least one of the surfaces of the heart. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19, 20)
