1. A system for managing and adaptively optimizing an energy storage system, comprising:

  • a plurality of subsystems, wherein each subsystem is configured to be implemented locally and adaptive to multiples types of energy storage components of the energy storage system, and wherein each subsystem comprises;

    one or more processors, and memory comprising a set of instructions executable by the one or more processors to cause the subsystem to;

    detect a physical connection to an energy storage component of the energy storage system;

    communicate, via a given driver among a plurality of drivers stored locally within the subsystem, with the energy storage system, wherein the driver is automatically selected for the energy storage system upon a detection of a connection to an energy storage component of the energy storage system;

    access a set of libraries, wherein each library among the set of libraries, upon execution by the one or more processors, implements energy-related data transformations and energy-related data calculations using input from the energy storage system, wherein the input is provided with the aid of the given driver; and

    perform, by selecting an application from a plurality of applications, (i) an energy-related function or economic-related function using input from the energy storage system that is provided with the aid of the given driver, and (ii) optimization of the energy storage system based on adaptive rules and algorithms for the selected application, allowing the subsystem to reliably coordinate with other energy storage components of the energy storage system via the respective subsystems.
