Confidence ratings for delivery of items
First Claim
1. A method for determining a confidence rating, the method comprising:
- storing, via one or more processors, a serviceable address record for a serviceable address, the serviceable address record comprising address data for the serviceable address, a geographic area classification for the serviceable address, and a reference point for the serviceable address, wherein (a) the address data comprises a physical address of the serviceable address, (b) the geographic area classification is one of a plurality of geographic area classifications and indicates the size of a zone of confidence for the serviceable address, and (c) the reference point comprises a geo coordinate around which the zone of confidence is defined for the serviceable address;
receiving, via the one or more processors, a plurality of geo coordinate samples collected by a mobile device for a single visit, by a vehicle, to the serviceable address for delivery of an item, wherein at least one of the plurality of geo coordinate samples are collected in response to one or more triggering actions, and wherein the one or more triggering actions include at least one triggering action from a group of triggering actions consisting of;
the vehicle exiting or entering a street network, the vehicle being in a parked position, ignition of the vehicle, an electronic signature capture event, and a scan/read event;
storing, via the one or more processors, the plurality of geo coordinate samples collected by the mobile device for the single visit to the serviceable address for delivery of the item in an item record;
responsive to receiving a request to confirm that delivery of the item was completed at the serviceable address, automatically retrieving, via the one or more processors, (a) the plurality of geo coordinate samples collected by the mobile device for the single visit to the serviceable address for delivery of the item from the item record, and (b) the geographic area classification and the reference point from the serviceable address record;
determining, via the one or more processors, a number of the plurality of geo coordinate samples that are within the zone of confidence defined around the reference point for the serviceable address;
determining, via one or more processors, a confidence rating for delivery of the item to the serviceable address based at least in part on the number of the plurality of geo coordinate samples that are within the zone of confidence; and
assigning, via the one or more processors, the confidence rating to the delivery of the item to the serviceable address.

Abstract
Computer program products, methods, systems, apparatus, and computing entities for determining/identifying confidence ratings/indicators for delivery of items. In one embodiment, this comprises determining a number of location events that occurred within a zone of confidence for delivery an item to a serviceable address; and responsive to determining the number of location events that occurred within the zone of confidence for delivery the item to the serviceable address, determining, via one or more processors, a confidence rating for delivery of the item to the serviceable address based at least in part on the number of location events that occurred within the zone of confidence.

2. An apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including program code, the at least one memory and the program code configured to, with the processor, cause the apparatus to at least:
-
store, in the at least one memory, a serviceable address record for a serviceable address, the serviceable address record comprising address data for the serviceable address, a geographic area classification for the serviceable address, and a reference point for the serviceable address, wherein (a) the address data comprises a physical address of the serviceable address, (b) the geographic area classification is one of a plurality of geographic area classifications and indicates the size of a zone of confidence for the serviceable address, and (c) the reference point comprises a geo coordinate around which the zone of confidence is defined for the serviceable address; receive, over a computer network and via one or more telematics sensors affixed to a vehicle, one or more trigger events, wherein the one or more trigger events include at least one trigger event from a group of trigger events consisting of;
the vehicle exiting or entering a street network, the vehicle being in a parked position, and ignition of the vehicle;at least partially in response to an occurrence of the one or more triggering events, receive, over the computer network, a plurality of geo coordinate samples generated at least in part by a location sensor affixed to the vehicle, the plurality of geo coordinate samples being generated during a single visit, by the vehicle, to the serviceable address for delivery of an item, the geo coordinate samples including longitude and latitude coordinates; generate an item record based at least in part on storing, in the at least one memory, the plurality of geo coordinate samples generated during the single visit to the serviceable address for delivery of the item; responsive to receiving, over the computer network, a request to confirm that delivery of the item was completed at the serviceable address, automatically retrieve (a) the plurality of geo coordinate samples generated during the single visit to the serviceable address for delivery of the item from the item record, and (b) the geographic area classification and the reference point from the serviceable address record; determine a number of the plurality of geo coordinate samples that are within the zone of confidence defined around the reference point for the serviceable address; determine a confidence rating for delivery of the item to the serviceable address based at least in part on the number of the plurality of geo coordinate samples that are within the zone of confidence; assign the confidence rating to the delivery of the item to the serviceable address; and provide, over the computer network and to a retailer computing entity or a customer computing entity, a user interface that includes the confidence rating indicating a confidence level that the item was delivered to a proper area associated with the serviceable address.
