1. A computer-implemented method for selecting a ticket for an event on a mobile device through a ticketing web interface provided over the Internet by a ticketing system programmed by a computer readable memory to perform the method, the method comprising:

  • providing, by a processor of the ticketing system, a ticketing web interface to the mobile device via the Internet using a communications module of the ticketing system;

    initiating, by the processor, a survey through the ticketing web interface for a user preference for a ticket from the mobile device, the survey being provided to the mobile device using the communications module;

    displaying, by the processor, the ticketing web interface for the survey on a display of the mobile device using the communications module, the ticketing web interface having a criteria of selection for the ticket, the criteria for selection being at least one of a cost selector for a cost, a value selector for a value, or a location selector for a location;

    selecting, by a user, at least one of the criteria desirable for the user of the mobile device;

    displaying, by the processor, a listing of price ranges for a plurality of tickets for the event through the ticketing web interface on the display of the mobile device using the communications module, the listing of price ranges being a first price range, a second price range, and an Nth price range, where N is an integer greater than 2;

    selecting, by the user, one of the price ranges from the listing of price ranges;

    displaying, by the processor, a scale of desirability for each of the criteria for the ticket through the ticketing web interface on the display of the mobile device using the communications module, the scale being numbered from a first integer to an Mth integer greater than 1, the criteria being at least a cost, a value, and a location;

    selecting, by the user, a degree of desirability for each of the criteria for the ticket;

    creating, by the processor, a user preference information from the selection of the criteria desirable for the user, the selection of one of the price ranges, and the selection of the degree of desirability, and storing the user preference information into the computer readable memory; and

    searching a list of events on a plurality of websites using a crawler, under control of the processor, to identify the event and using the user preference information to output an optimal ticket for the event;

    wherein the searching of the list of events on a plurality of websites using a crawler includes assembling a ticket file in a native Extensible Markup Language (xml) code and parsing the xml code to extract at least a ticket ID, a section, a row, a seat, a quantity, a price, and a seat type indicators;

    wherein the creating of the user preference information causes the ticketing system to select, by the processor, the event using the user preference information from a listing of events and to update the ticketing web interface using the communications module to display on the mobile device the event according to the user preference information; and

    using the optimal ticket to initiate an entry process to a gate structure at an event venue associated with the optimal ticket to allow entry through the gate structure.
