1. Monolayered microcapsules having a mean particle size within a range selected from about 1 to about 100 μ

  • m, the microcapsules comprising a single core of a black pigment which is carbon black or a mixture of carbon black and black iron oxide, and a shell of a wall-forming polymeric material selected from poly(methyl methacrylate)-co-methacrylic acid, ammonium methacrylate copolymer type B, a cellulose ether, a cellulose ester, or a combination thereof, wherein the microcapsules do not contain a plasticizer, and further comprise one or more additives selected from the group consisting of hydrogenated polyisobutene and butylene glycol cocoate, and wherein the microcapsules have a black color,wherein the black pigment is carbon black, and the amount of carbon black in the microcapsules is within a range selected from about 80 to about 90% of the total weight of the microcapsules, or wherein the black pigment is a mixture of carbon black and black iron oxide, the ratio between the carbon black and black iron oxide in said mixture is in a range of from 1;

    20 to 20;

    1, respectively, and said black pigment is in an amount from about 80 to about 90% of the total weight of the microcapsules.
