Abstract
An inbred corn line, designated 4HSXI1003, the plants and seeds of the inbred corn line 4HSXI1003, methods for producing a corn plant, either inbred or hybrid, produced by crossing the inbred corn line 4HSXI1003 with itself or with another corn plant, and hybrid corn seeds and plants produced by crossing the inbred line 4HSXI1003 with another corn line or plant and to methods for producing a corn plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic corn plants produced by that method. This invention also relates to inbred corn lines derived from inbred corn line 4HSXI1003, to methods for producing other inbred corn lines derived from inbred corn line 4HSXI1003 and to the inbred corn lines derived by the use of those methods.

11. A method of introducing a desired trait into corn inbred line 4HSXI1003, representative seed of the line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-124407, the method comprising:
-
(a) crossing 4HSXI1003 plants of another corn line that comprises a desired trait to produce F1 progeny plants; (b) selecting F1 progeny plants; (c) crossing F1 progeny plants that have the desired trait with 4HSXI1003 plants to produce backcross progeny plants; (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and physiological and morphological characteristics of corn inbred line 4HSXI1003; and (e) performing further backcrosses of each generation of selected backcross progeny plants with 4HSXI1003 plants sufficient times in succession to produce higher backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and otherwise all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of corn inbred line 4HSXI1003 as determined at the 5% significance level when grown in the same environmental conditions. - View Dependent Claims (12)
