1. An incubating device comprising:

  • a body having an interior cavity;

    a plurality of trays disposed in the interior cavity and receiving at least one egg for incubation; and

    a plurality of lighting elements positioned to emit light reaching substantially an entire outer surface of the at least one egg,wherein said plurality of lighting elements are configured to emit light for irradiating the at least one egg with a spectrum substantially concentrated within a pre-determined narrow wavelength range selected based on a selected sex-ratio being promoted in at least one embryo of the at least one egg wherein the plurality of lighting elements are disposed on an upper surface and an undersurface of at least one of the plurality of trays.
