1. A system, comprising:

  • a programmer configured to instruct a stimulator to electrical energy by delivering electrical current to at least one electrode that is in contact with tissue of a patient to provide a stimulation effect, wherein the stimulation effect includes at least one of an evoked potential feature, an electroencephalogram (EEG) feature, or an electromyography (EMG) feature, wherein adjustable stimulation parameters are used to define the electrical current that provides the stimulation effect;

    wherein the programmer is configured to automatically respond to a manual adjustment of at least a first one of the stimulation parameters by automatically adjusting at least a second of the stimulation parameters to maintain the stimulation effect using a defined relationship of the adjustable stimulation parameters to the stimulation effect.
