1. A crown for a plasma arc torch, the crown comprising:
- a body defining a distal end that is closest to a workpiece during an operation of the plasma arc torch and a proximal end opposite of the distal end, the distal end of the body disposed adjacent to and aligned with a proximal end of an electrode of the plasma arc torch;
at least one raised feature at the proximal end of the body, the raised feature adapted to depress a consumable sensor inside of the plasma arc torch to permit a flow of electrical current from a power supply; and
a surface of the body having one of (i) a depressed center to conduct the electrical current through the body, or (ii) an opening adapted to provide the electrical current to the electrode.

Abstract
A crown for a plasma arc torch is provided. The crown includes a body defining a proximal and a distal end. The body includes an electrically conductive material. The crown also includes at least one raised feature at the proximal end of the body. The raised feature is adapted to activate a consumable sensor inside of the plasma arc torch. The crown further includes a biasing surface at the proximal end of the body for physically contacting a resilient element.

7. A cartridge consumable of a multi-piece cartridge consumable for a plasma arc torch, the cartridge consumable comprising:

a crown defining a distal end that is closest to a workpiece during an operation of the plasma arc torch and a proximal end opposite of the distal end, the crown having one of a depressed center or an opening; a swirl ring defining a distal end and a proximal end, the proximal end of the swirl ring disposed adjacent to and aligned with the distal end of the crown; a nozzle fixedly connected to the swirl ring at the distal end of the swirl ring; and an electrode disposed in a chamber defined by the crown, the swirl ring and the nozzle; at least one of the crown, the electrode, the swirl ring or the nozzle comprising a raised feature extending proximally, the raised feature configured to depress a consumable sensor to permit a flow of electrical current from a power supply to the cartridge consumable. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26)
