1. A display system comprising:

  • a display configured to display image content on a plurality of depth planes by outputting a plurality of component color images, the display comprising;

    a waveguide stack comprising;

    a first plurality of waveguides, each of the first plurality of waveguides comprising first outcoupling optical elements configured to selectively outcouple light of a first component color, wherein each of the first plurality of waveguides is configured to output light of the first component color with a different amount of wavefront divergence than other waveguides of the first plurality of waveguides;

    a second plurality of waveguides, each of the second plurality of waveguides comprising second outcoupling optical elements configured to selectively outcouple light of a second component color, wherein each of the second plurality of waveguides is configured to output light of the second component color with a different amount of wavefront divergence than other waveguides of the second plurality of waveguides; and

    a third plurality of waveguides, each of the third plurality of waveguides comprising third outcoupling optical elements configured to selectively outcouple light of a third component color, wherein each of the third plurality of waveguides is configured to output light of the third component color with a different amount of wavefront divergence than other waveguides of the second plurality of waveguides,wherein the light of the first component color comprises light having a wavelength within a first wavelength range, wherein the light of the second component color comprises light having a wavelength within a second wavelength range, and wherein the light of the third component color comprises light having a wavelength within a third wavelength range,wherein the first plurality of waveguides totals a greater number of waveguides than the second plurality of waveguides.
