1. A touch detecting apparatus comprising:

  • three or more detectors that are aligned in at least one direction and that individually detect a touch operation;

    a generating circuit that generates low-resolution patterns by integrating outputs from a plurality of group detectors serving as a single group that are the three or more detectors and consecutively aligned, the low-resolution patterns having resolution lower than resolution corresponding to the number of the detectors based on outputs from the detectors;

    a calculating circuit that calculates for each of the detectors, a composite value to be used to derive a detection result of each of the detectors based on the low-resolution patterns; and

    a determining circuit that performs determination for redetermining a new value for an initial value corresponding to a predetermined value set for each of the detectors, based on a difference between the initial value and the composite value calculated for each of the detectors,wherein at least a first pattern, a second pattern, and a third pattern that are different from each other and that are included in the low-resolution patterns are used to obtain a high resolution pattern with a resolution higher than resolutions of the first pattern, the second pattern and the third pattern,wherein each of the first pattern, the second pattern, and the third pattern is obtained by integrating at least;

    first outputs from the group detectors;

    second outputs from group detectors shifted from the group detectors for the first outputs by a single group width; and

    third outputs from group detectors shifted from the group detectors for the second outputs by the single group width,wherein arrangement of the group detectors is shifted by a predetermined shift amount between the first pattern and the second pattern and between the second pattern and the third pattern, andwherein the predetermined shift amount is smaller than the single group width that is a width of a group area in an alignment direction of the detectors, the group area being an area in which the group detectors are arranged.
