- a multichannel transceiver, comprising only one transmitter, configured to be installed in a vehicle and to simultaneously receive on at least two channels;
wherein the multichannel transceiver is configured to communicate through a datalink system with at least one of a vehicle traffic center and a vehicle operations center;
a communications management system coupled to the multichannel transceiver;
wherein the communications management system is configured to be installed in the vehicle; and
wherein the communications management system is configured to select channels from a plurality of channels of the multichannel transceiver, and relay data between at least one vehicle component and the at least one of the vehicle traffic center and the vehicle operations center.
