1. A filter system comprising:
- a) a filter having a plurality of hook-terminated anchor members wherein at least one said anchor member comprises a shank and a hook;
b) wherein each hook-terminated anchor member has a curved hook end portion;
c) a pusher assembly including a spline having circumferentially spaced apart grooves, each said groove engaging a section of the anchor that is spaced away from the hook;
d) the spline including a first boss and a second boss; and
e) a radially extended gap in between said first and second bosses and spaced from said grooves, wherein said gap is occupied by each said curved hook end portion of each said anchor member in a pre-deployment, pushing position.

3. A filter system comprising:
-
a) a vena cava filter having a plurality of hook-terminated, longitudinally disposed anchor members wherein one of said anchor members comprises a tapered anchor portion with a maximum width adjacent to a said hook-terminated anchor member and with a first diameter equal to the maximum width and a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, each said hook-terminated anchor member having a hook curved end portion; and b) a pusher assembly including; i an elongated member having a handle at a proximal end, a pusher pad at a distal end; and
a distal section between the handle and the pusher pad; andii a spline member disposed along a distal section of the elongated member wherein the spline member has; tapered grooves, each tapered groove engaging at least the second diameter of the tapered anchor portion in an interference fit; a gap on said spline member that is spaced longitudinally away from said tapered grooves; and a plurality of bosses, at least one boss comprising a plurality of projections longitudinally disposed about a main surface to define the tapered grooves, wherein an end of each hook is positioned in said gap outside of the plurality of said tapered grooves.
