Abstract

A cloud-connected off-grid lighting and video system may include one or more wireless lighting modules and a bridge device to transmit a video stream or images to external devices such as a remote device, a cellular phone, a home automation system, or a security system The cloud-connected off-grid lighting and video system may operate over the cloud via an Internet connection allowing the bridge device to communicate with a server on the Internet that may implement software for the interface to capture data regarding activity detected by the wireless lighting module.

Claims

1. An electronic device comprising:

a first transceiver;

a second transceiver;

one or more processors; and

one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising;

receiving, using the first transceiver, image data from a lighting device, the image data representing one or more images; and

sending, using the second transceiver, the image data representing the one or more images to a remote system.

2. The electronic device of claim 1, the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising:

receiving, using the second transceiver, a control signal from the remote system; and

sending, using the first transceiver, the control signal to the lighting device.

3. The electronic device of claim 2, wherein the control signal comprises one of an on signal, an off signal, or a dim signal.

4. The electronic device of claim 1, the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising:

receiving, using the first transceiver, a first signal from an additional lighting device, the first signal associated with initiating the additional lighting device; and

sending, using the second transceiver, a second signal to the remote system, the second signal associated with initiating the additional lighting device.

5. The electronic device of claim 4, the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising:

receiving, using the second transceiver, configuration data from the remote system; and

sending, using the first transceiver, the configuration data to the additional lighting device.

6. The electronic device of claim 1, further comprising a power interface configured for coupling to at least one of an alternating current (AC) outlet, a rechargeable battery, or one or more photovoltaic cells.

7. The electronic device of claim 1, the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising:

receiving, using the first transceiver, a first signal from the lighting device, the first signal indicating that the lighting device detected motion; and

sending, using the second transceiver, a second signal to the remote system, the second signal indicating that lighting device detected the motion.

8. The electronic device of claim 7, further comprising an indicator, and wherein the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media store further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising causing the indicator to activate after the receiving of the first signal.

9. The electronic device of claim 1, the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising:

receiving, using the first transceiver, a first signal from a sensor included in a set of sensors; and

sending, using the second transceiver, a second signal to the remote system.

10. The electronic device of claim 9, wherein the sensor comprises one of an infrared sensor, a light sensor, a proximity sensor, an acoustic sensor, a motion sensor, a carbon monoxide detector, a smoke detector, a thermal sensor, an electromagnetic sensor, a thermal imaging sensor, an optical sensor, a capacitive sensor, or a glass break sensor.

11. The electronic device of claim 1, wherein:

the receiving of the image data from the lighting device comprises receiving, using the first transceiver and over a first type of network, the image data from the lighting device; and

the sending of the image data to the remote system comprises sending, using the second transceiver and over a second type of network, the image data to the remote system, the second type of network being different than the first type of network.

12. A method comprising:

receiving, by a bridge device, configuration data from a lighting device;

sending, by the bridge device, the configuration data to a remote system;

receiving, by the bridge device, image data from the lighting device, the image data representing one or more images; and

sending, by the bridge device, the image data to the remote system.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

receiving, by the bridge device, a first signal from the lighting device, the first signal indicating that the lighting device detected an object; and

sending, by the bridge device, a second signal to the remote system, the second signal indicating that the lighting device detected the object.

14. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

receiving, by the bridge device, a first control signal from the remote system;

sending, by the bridge device, a second control signal to the lighting device; and

sending, by the bridge device, a third control signal to at least an additional lighting device.

15. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

receiving, by the bridge device, additional configuration data from the remote system; and

sending, by the bridge device, the additional configuration data to the lighting device.

16. An electronic device comprising:

at least one transceiver,

one or more processors; and

one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising;

receiving, using the at least one transceiver, first data from a remote system, the first data associated with configuring a lighting device;

sending, using the at least one transceiver, the first data to the lighting device;

receiving, using the at least one transceiver, second data from the lighting device, the second data representing one or more images; and

sending, using the at least one transceiver, the second data to the remote system.

17. The electronic device of claim 16, the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising:

receiving, using the at least one transceiver, third data from the lighting device, the third data associated with initiating the lighting device; and

sending, using the at least one transceiver, the third data to the remote system.

18. The electronic device of claim 16, wherein:

the at least one transceiver includes a first transceiver and a second transceiver;

the receiving of the second data from the lighting device comprises receiving, using the first transceiver and over a first type of network, the second data from the lighting device; and

the sending of the second data to the remote system comprises sending, using the second transceiver and over a second type of network, the second data to the remote system, the second type of network being different than the first type of network.

19. The electronic device of claim 16, the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising:

receiving, using the at least one transceiver, a first signal from the lighting device, the first signal indicating that the lighting device detected an object; and

sending, using the at least one transceiver, a second signal to the remote system, the second signal indicating that the lighting device detected the object.

20. The electronic device of claim 16, the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform further operations comprising:

receiving, using the at least one transceiver, a first signal from the remote system, the first signal representing an instruction to control the lighting device; and

sending, using the at least one transceiver, a second signal to the lighting device, the second signal representing the instruction to control the lighting device.
