1. A method of providing electrical stimulation therapy to a heart of a patient using an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) system and an implantable leadless pacing device, the method comprising:

  • generating one or more pacing pulses with the implantable leadless pacing device;

    delivering the one or more pacing pulses via two electrodes on a housing of the leadless pacing device implanted substantially within an anterior mediastinum of the patient such that the two electrodes on the housing are physically isolated from a pericardium of the patient;

    generating a defibrillation pulse with an ICD of the ICD system implanted within a patient; and

    delivering the defibrillation pulse via at least one electrode of a defibrillation lead coupled to the ICD.
