1. A method of eliciting an immune response in a patient who has a cancer overexpressing an MMP12 polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:

  • 26, comprising administering to said patient a population of activated T cells that kill cancer cells,wherein the activated T cells are cytotoxic CD8+ T cells produced by contacting T cells with an antigen presenting cell that presents a peptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO;

    26 in a complex with an MHC class I molecule on the surface of the antigen presenting cell in vitro, for a period of time sufficient to activate said T cell, andwherein said cancer is selected from the group consisting of lung cancer, stomach cancer, and liver cancer.
