Abstract

In various embodiments, a television monitor wall mount is provided that allows a television monitor to be mounted flush against a wall, such as directly against the SHEETROCK, drywall or other wall surface material. When attached behind a wall to a wall stud, the television wall mount serves as a bracket to support the weight of the television monitor that is located on the front side of the wall. The weight of the television monitor is supported by bolts which extend through a mounting plate surface behind the wall and through the wall and into the back of the television monitor that is on the front side of the wall. When tightened, these bolts secure the back of the television monitor flush against the first front side of the wall.

Claims

1. A television monitor wall mount system comprising:

a first piece of the television monitor wall mount system having a first mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system, the first mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system attached behind a wall to a first planar surface of a first wall stud that is located behind the wall, the wall having a first side on which a television monitor is to be mounted and a second side opposite the first side;

a second mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system connected to the first mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system, the second mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system attached behind the wall to the second side of the wall that is opposite the first side, the second mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system having at least one hole through which a first television mount fastener is placed to mount the television monitor on the first side of the wall opposite the second side, wherein the first television mount fastener extends through the second mounting plate and the wall in such a manner that the television monitor is able to be fastened to the first side of the wall opposite the second side via the first television mount fastener;

a second piece of the television monitor wall mount system having a first mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system, the first mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system attached behind the wall to a first planar surface of a second wall stud that is located behind the wall; and

a second mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system connected to the first mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system, the second mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system attached behind the wall to the second side of the wall that is opposite the first side, the second mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system having at least one hole through which a second television mount fastener is placed to mount the television monitor on the first side of the wall opposite the second side, wherein the second television mount fastener extends through the second mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system and the wall in such a manner that the television monitor is able to be fastened to the first side of the wall opposite the second side via the second television mount fastener.

The television monitor wall mount system of claim 1 wherein the first mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system attached behind the wall to the first wall stud has at least one hole through which a fastener is placed to attach the first mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system behind the wall to the first planar surface of the first wall stud.

The television monitor wall mount system of claim 2 wherein the first mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system attached behind the wall to the second wall stud has at least one hole through which a fastener is placed to attach the first mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system behind the wall to the first planar surface of the second wall stud.

4. The television monitor wall mount system of claim 3 wherein the first planar surface of the first wall stud and the first planar surface of the second wall stud are parallel to each other.

5. The television monitor wall mount system of claim 1 further comprising:

a third mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system connected to the first mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system, the third mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system attached behind the first wall stud on a second planar surface of the first wall stud different than the first planar surface of the first wall stud; and

a third mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system connected to the first mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system, the third mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system attached behind the second wall stud on a second planar surface of the second wall stud different than the first planar surface of the second wall stud.

6. The television monitor wall mount system of claim 1 wherein:

the second mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system is coplanar with a planar surface of the first wall stud opposite the first planar surface of the first wall stud when the first mounting plate of the first piece of the television monitor wall mount system is attached behind the wall to the first planar surface of the first wall stud; and

the second mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system is coplanar with a planar surface of the second wall stud opposite the first planar surface of the second wall stud when the first mounting plate of the second piece of the television monitor wall mount system is attached behind the wall to the first planar surface of the second wall stud.
