1. A surgical instrument, comprising:
- an end effector configured to grasp tissue, the end effector comprising at least one sensor configured to measure a parameter corresponding to a thickness of the grasped tissue;
a firing member movable during a firing stroke between a first position and a second position to effect a motion at the end effector;
a motor configured to drive the firing member between the first position and the second position;
a feedback indicator configured to display a plurality of zones of speed of the firing member;
a processor in communication with the feedback indicator; and
a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing program instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to;
select one of the plurality of zones of speed of the firing member; and
indicate on the feedback indicator the selected zone of speed of the firing member.

Abstract
A surgical instrument comprising an end effector configured to grasp tissue. The end effector comprises at least one sensor configured to measure a parameter corresponding to a thickness of the grasped tissue. The surgical instrument further includes a firing member movable during a firing stroke to cause a motion at the end effector and a motor configured to drive the firing member. A feedback indicator or display is configured to display the speed of the firing member according to one of a plurality of zones of speed, such as the relative speed of the firing member.

15. A surgical instrument, comprising:
-
an end effector, comprising; a first jaw member; a second jaw member movable relative to the first jaw member to grasp tissue between the first jaw member and the second jaw member in a closed configuration; and at least one sensor configured to measure a parameter indicative of a thickness of the grasped tissue; a firing member movable during a firing stroke between a first position and a second position to effect a motion at the end effector; a motor configured to drive the firing member between the first position and the second position; a feedback indicator displaying zones of speed of the firing member; a processor in communication with the feedback indicator; and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing program instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to characterize a speed of the firing member as belonging to one of the zones of speed based at least in part on input from the at least one sensor and to display the characterized speed on the feedback indicator relative to the zones of speed of the firing member. - View Dependent Claims (16)
