1. An intervertebral implant comprising:
- an implant body including a first surface and a second surface, the implant body defining a bone fixation hole that extends from a first opening defined by the first surface to a second opening defined by the second surface such that the bone fixation hole defines a non-linear path between the first opening and the second opening, wherein the first and second openings are spaced from each other along a first direction, and the implant body defines a top vertebral-facing surface, and a bottom vertebral-facing surface that is
1) opposite the top surface along a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction, and
2) configured to face a second vertebral body; and
a bone fixation element configured to be inserted through the bone fixation hole such that the bone fixation element follows the non-linear path between the first opening and the second opening, wherein the first opening includes a guide slot configured to guide the bone fixation element to rotate along the non-linear path as it is driven into the bone fixation hole.
