1. A method of modifying a telephone call between a local telephone that initiates the call and a remote telephone that receives the call via a call switching system based on a call rule, the method comprising activating a call modification protocol based on a dial-in number called by the local telephone number that is one of a plurality of dial-in numbers of the call switching system;

  • in which the call modification protocol comprises transmitting the call from the call switching system to the remote telephone with a spoofed number based on the dial-in number called;

    in which the spoofed number is selected by comparing at least a portion of the dial-in number to a stored list of dial-in number portions each having an associated spoofed number portion, said associated spoofed number portion selected from the group consisting of;

    a country code, an area code, an exchange, and a combination of any of the foregoing;

    in which the spoofed number comprises said spoofed number portion and the remainder of the spoofed number is randomly generated; and

    in which the dial-in number is not the same as a number of the remote telephone.
