1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:

  • presenting, on a display of an electronic reader device, a first portion of reflowable content, the first portion including a link to a first location in a second portion of the reflowable content, wherein the first and second portions are both included in a collection of text that reflows as a unit, the second portion including first text and second text, the first text being at the first location;

    determining that the link has been selected; and

    in response to determining that the link has been selected;

    presenting, on the display at a first time, a first version of the second portion, the first version having a first visual effect associated with the first text to emphasize the first text, andpresenting, on the display at a second time corresponding to a predetermined interval subsequent to the first time, a second version of the second portion, the second version being free of the first visual effect associated with the first text.
