1. A system to manage energy storage of battery packs, the system comprising:
- a first power system set including a first energy source and a first battery pack group including one or more voltage controllable battery packs;
a second power system set including a second energy source and a second battery pack group including one or more voltage controllable battery packs;
a first source switch disposed between a load and the first power system set;
a second source switch disposed between the load and the second power system set; and
a controller operatively coupled to the first source switch and the second source switch and configured to selectively activate or deactivate each of the first source switch and the second source switch as a function of a first charge state of the first battery pack group and a second charge state of the second battery pack group, in a first configuration, the controller is to (A) activate the first source switch to enable the first power system set to provide power to the load and (B) deactivate the second source switch to decouple the second power system set from the load and enable the second energy source to charge the second battery pack group.

-
determining, by executing an instruction with a processor, a first power system set, including a first energy source and a first battery pack group, is to be electrically coupled to a load to provide power to the load and a second power system set, including a second energy source and a second battery pack group, is to be electrically decoupled from the load as a function of a first charge state of the first battery pack group and a second charge state of the second battery pack group, the first battery pack group including one or more voltage controllable battery packs, the second battery pack group including one or more voltage controllable battery packs; activating, by executing an instruction with the processor, a first source switch disposed between the load and the first power system set, to electrically couple the first power system set to the load such that the first power system set provides power to the load; and deactivating, by executing an instruction with the processor, a second source switch, disposed between the load and the second power system set, to electrically decouple the second power system set from the load to enable the second energy source to charge the second battery pack group while the first power system set provides power to the load. - View Dependent Claims (15, 16, 17, 18, 19)
