1. A computing system, comprising:
- one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform;
receiving information of events in a predetermined geographic area, the information of the events comprising respective times at which the events occurred within a predetermined date range, and the information comprising a respective event type for each of the events, each of the respective event types being selected from a plurality of different event types;
determining an origin and at least one destination;
determining from the predetermined geographic area one or more first routes for traveling from the origin to the destination;
determining, based on the respective event types and the respective times at which the events occurred within the predetermined date range of the received information, one or more segments in each of the first routes, each segment being associated with a corresponding recommendation for travelling via the segment, the corresponding recommendation indicating a measure of difficulty for travelling via the segment;
categorizing the one or more segments based on the corresponding one or more recommendations; and
causing presentation of the one or more categorized segments on a map.

Abstract
Systems and methods are provided for event-based route planning. Information of events taking place in a predetermined geographic area is received. An origin and at least one destination are determined. One or more first routes for traveling from the origin to the destination are determined from the predetermined geographic area. One or more segments in each of the first routes are determined based on the received information, each segment being associated with a corresponding recommendation for travelling via the segment.
