1. An LED lighting system comprising:
- at least one LED circuit having at least two LEDs, wherein the at least two LEDs in the at least one LED circuit are the same or different colors;
an LED driver;
wherein the LED driver has an input voltage and an output voltage, the LED driver having an input of a first voltage and a first frequency from a mains power source and providing a DC voltage output;
wherein the LED driver includes a voltage measurement circuit that monitors the DC voltage output;
wherein the LED driver includes a voltage regulator that regulates the output voltage at a relatively fixed level and adjusts the output voltage, based upon the output of the voltage measurement circuit, to maintain the relatively fixed output voltage level when additional LED circuits are added to the LED lighting system so long as the total output wattage of the driver is not exceeded; and
wherein the LED lighting system has integrated circuitry that allows for the light output of the lighting system to be dimmable.
