1. A computer displaying images of a medical exam, the computer comprising:
- one or more hardware computer processors configured with computer-executable instructions in order to cause the one or more hardware computer processors to;
determine one or more environment characteristics of a first display environment in which one or more of the images of the medical exam are to be displayed;
in response to the one or more environment characteristics of the first display environment matching one or more environment characteristics of a second display environment associated with a first, stored composite montage image, display the first, stored composite montage image; and
in response to the one or more environment characteristics of the second display environment not matching the one or more environment characteristics of the second display environment associated with the first, stored composite montage image;
determine, based on the one or more environment characteristics of the first display environment, one or more display characteristics associated with the medical exam, wherein the one or more display characteristics include an indication of a number of rows and a number of columns of images of the medical exam that are to be concurrently displayed in the first display environment;
determine one or more additional display characteristics regarding display settings for individual images in the medical exam;
generate a second composite montage image in accordance with the one or more display characteristics and the one or more additional display characteristics; and
display the second composite montage image in the first display environment.
