Method and apparatus for a cloud-based broadband push-to-talk configuration portal
First Claim
1. A cloud computing device hosting a voice stack cloud service for routing voice communications between broadband mobile radios operating via a broadband push-to-talk (PTT) radio system and land mobile radio (LMR) devices operating via one or more LMR radio systems and hosting a cloud-based broadband PTT configuration application for allowing remote configuration of the voice stack cloud service, the cloud computing device configured to:
- detect, via the broadband PTT configuration application, a first user action taken at a remote client device providing an interface to the cloud-based broadband push-to-talk configuration application, the first user action taken including an activation of an add group graphical object associated with adding a new group to an existing broadband PTT radio system;
detect, via the broadband PTT configuration application, a second user action taken at the remote client device including entrance of an identifier that uniquely identifies the new group and entrance of a group type indication indicating whether the new group is a broadband-only group or a converged broadband and LMR group, and responsive to detecting the first and second user action;
where the group type indication indicates that the new group is a broadband-only group;
update, by the broadband PTT configuration application, the voice stack cloud service associated with the broadband PTT radio system to include the new group in the broadband PTT radio system;
update, by the broadband PTT configuration application and via the voice stack cloud service associated with the broadband PTT radio system, existing other broadband mobile radios in the broadband PTT radio system that the new group has been added to the broadband PTT radio system; and
where the group type indication indicates that the new group is a converged broadband and LMR group;
update, by the broadband PTT configuration application, the voice stack cloud service associated with the broadband PTT radio system to include the new group in the broadband PTT radio system;
update, by the broadband PTT configuration application and via the voice stack cloud service associated with the broadband PTT radio system, existing other broadband mobile radios in the broadband PTT radio system that the new group has been added to the broadband PTT radio system; and
register, by the broadband PTT configuration application via the voice stack cloud service, at a particular LMR radio system indicated via the second user action, that the new group has been added to the broadband PTT radio system; and
route, via the updated voice stack cloud service, subsequently received voice communications between broadband mobile radios operating via the broadband PTT radio system and/or LMR devices operating via one or more LMR radio systems.

Abstract
A method for hosting a cloud-based broadband push-to-talk (PTT) configuration application includes detecting a user action taken at a remote client device providing an interface to the configuration application including an activation of an add group graphical object for adding a new group to an existing broadband PTT radio system, and further includes entrance of a unique identifier for the new group and entrance of whether the new group is a broadband-only group or a converged broadband and land-mobile-radio (LMR) group. A voice service stack associated with the broadband PTT radio system is updated to include the new group and existing other broadband mobile radios are updated via a voice service stack to reflect the added new group. Where the type of the new group is a converged broadband and LMR group, an LMR interface stack of the LMR radio system is updated to reflect the newly added group.
