1. An article that yields an inhalable substance, the article comprising:
- a control housing including;
an electrical energy source;
a receiving chamber;
a projection within the receiving chamber, the projection having a length; and
an electrical heating member positioned on the projection along at least a portion of the length of the projection; and
a cartridge body having a mouth end and an engaging end, the cartridge body including;
a paper tube;
an interior cartridge space; and
an inhalable substance medium comprising tobacco present within the interior cartridge space;
wherein the engaging end of the cartridge body is configured for insertion into the receiving chamber of the control housing such that the projection of the control housing at least partially engages the cartridge body causing the electrical heating member to be in a heating arrangement with the inhalable substance medium of the cartridge.

Abstract
The present invention describes articles, such as smoking articles, that can provide an inhalable substance in a form suitable for inhalation by a consumer. The article comprises a cartridge with an inhalable substance medium therein, control housing that includes an electrical energy source and an electrical power source, and a heating member that may be located in either the cartridge or the control housing. The control housing further may include puff-actuated current actuation components and current regulation components.

18. A method of forming an aerosol, the method comprising:

providing a control housing including; an electrical energy source; a receiving chamber; a projection within the receiving chamber, the projection having a length; and an electrical heating member positioned on the projection along at least a portion of the length of the projection; providing a cartridge body having a mouth end and an engaging end, the cartridge body including; a paper tube; an interior cartridge space; and an inhalable substance medium comprising tobacco present within the interior cartridge space; and inserting the engaging end of the cartridge body into the receiving chamber of the control housing such that the projection of the control housing at least partially engages the cartridge body causing the electrical heating member to be in a heating arrangement with the inhalable substance medium of the cartridge.
