1. A clot retrieval device for removing clot from a blood vessel, the device having a collapsed delivery configuration and an expanded deployed configuration and comprising:

  • a framework of struts forming a tubular porous inner body flow channel with a proximal portion and a distal portion; and

    a framework of struts forming an outer tubular body having a proximal end located at or adjacent the distal portion of the porous inner body flow channel, the outer tubular body distally tapering from the proximal end and radially surrounding the distal portion of the porous inner body flow channel during both the collapsed delivery configuration and the expanded deployed configuration;

    a distal scaffolding zone comprising a plurality of strut elements that form a generally conical tapering with a distal end of the outer tubular body, wherein strut elements of the scaffolding zone comprise a pore size smaller than cells of the tubular porous inner body;

    wherein the outer tubular body comprises a plurality of cells that are larger than the cells of the porous inner body flow channel, the outer tubular body being expandable to a radial extent to define a clot reception space.
