1. A display device provided with a touch sensor, comprising:

  • a plurality of common electrodes;

    a plurality of pixel thin film transistors (pixel TFTs) arranged in a matrix in a display areaa plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in the matrix;

    a plurality of gate lines connected to gate electrodes of the pixel TFTs and arranged in a row direction; and

    a plurality of source lines connected to source electrodes of the pixel TFTs and arranged in a column direction,whereineach of the plurality of pixel electrodes is connected to a corresponding one of drain electrodes of the plurality of pixel TFTs,the plurality of common electrodes for display are also used for the touch sensor,an image display operation of the plurality of common electrodes for display and a driving operation of the plurality of common electrodes for the touch sensor are performed in a time sharing manner,all of the plurality of gate lines, which are connected to the gate electrodes of the pixel TFTs, are caused to be in a floating state in the driving operation of the common electrodes for the touch sensor,all of the plurality of source lines, which are connected to the source electrodes of the pixel TFTs, are caused to be in a floating state in the driving operation of the common electrodes for the touch sensor, andthe plurality of common electrodes are not connected to the plurality of gate lines and the plurality of source lines.
