1. A network node device, comprising:

  • a processor; and

    a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising;

    receiving a signal from a user equipment indicating that the user equipment has decomposed a multiple input multiple output channel into multiple domains comprising an H domain and a V domain related to a co-variance between correlated antenna elements, and a U domain related to a co-phasing between multiple antenna sub-groups;

    based on the signal, configuring channel state information reference signal resources for the user equipment to use for measurement of the multiple domains;

    transmitting a message to the user equipment indicating the channel state information reference signal resources for the user equipment to facilitate the measurement of the multiple domains, wherein the message comprises a group of feedback formats;

    transmitting a channel state information reference signal using the channel state information reference signal resources configured for the multiple domains; and

    based on a decoding of feedback received from the user equipment, wherein the feedback comprises a feedback format selected from the group of feedback formats, determining a transmission parameter comprising a transmission protocol for transmissions between the network node device and the user equipment.
