A guiding tube for receiving and guiding a medical instrument, wherein the guiding tube comprises engaging members for engaging an instrument inside the tube, a non-circular cross-section at at least the location of said engaging members and a substantially spherically shaped ball member provided on an outer surface of said tube, wherein the engaging members are provided movable with respect to the tube in a direction having a radial component, seen with respect to the longitudinal axis of the tube, upon compression of the ball member.
