B cellulose fibers;
wherein both A and B are obtained from cellulose pith, the process comprising;
a. providing or isolating cellulose pith from cellulose pith material;
b. treating the cellulose pith with an alkali; and
c. fibrillating the alkali treated cellulose pith.
