1. A non-slip retainer attachment system for roofing structures comprising:
- a first shingle and a second shingle on a roof, the first shingle and the second shingle arranged in a pattern with the first shingle separated from the second shingle via a seam;
a spiral array stay comprising a vertical member that protrudes through the seam between the first shingle and the second shingle and a lateral member that lies underneath one or both of the first shingle and the second shingle, wherein the shape of the lateral member in plain view is a spiral;
a first hole in the vertical member of the spiral array stay;
a first beam comprising a second hole;
a fastening component penetrating the first hole in the vertical member and the second hole in the first beam thereby fixedly attaching the first beam to the spiral array stay; and
wherein no fastener penetrates through a body of the lateral member of the spiral array stay and into the roof.

Abstract
A non-slip roof attachment system for attaching structures to residential and commercial roofs without the use of penetrations to roofing shingles and sealing layers is described. The non-slip attachment system may be used to attach roof mounted systems such as solar panels. The non-slip attachment system also allows for the quick removal of such roof mounted systems rapidly and without the need for repair of penetrations. The non-slip attachment system uses, among other things, an array-stay retainer comprising a vertical member and a horizontal member. The horizontal member comprises a spiral.
